Disorganized Schizophrenia is a mental illness that involves interpreting reality abnormally. It is characterized by thought and behaviors that are not logical or that are incoherent. It is one of the most severe types of schizophrenia and can prevent sufferers from carrying out daily activities.

Disorganized behavior means a person can not carry out daily activities. A person may be unable to bath, dress or cook. A person may wear clothing that is not appropriate for the weather or act inappropriately. Behavior overall seems odd and not ordinary.

Inappropriate emotional reactions can be expressed as having no emotion at all or reacting to situations in an abnormal way. A person may avoid interaction with others or seem disconnected. The range of emotion is usually limited.

They may disappear or start having problems holding down a job. The signs are quite easy to spot because they go beyond just being irresponsible. Simply dismissing someone as being “crazy” or not taking this illness seriously can be dangerous and is very damaging to the person with the illness.

Disorganized Schizophrenia can be treated, but it is an on going process. A person must remain in treatment and stay committed to following the treatment plan in order for their illness to be controlled. Living with this illness can really make a person feel as if they have lost complete control. Getting help is the only way to get past it and live a normal life.
